Position Summary
Client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager with estimating experience ideally to lead and manage complex construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is integral to our project delivery, requiring a strategic leader who can ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will also leverage their estimating expertise to provide accurate and competitive project bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of project management, from pre-construction planning and budgeting to on-site execution and closeout.
  • Estimating: Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, including quantity take-offs, bid package preparation, and subcontractor/vendor negotiations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures to maintain profitability.
  • Schedule Management: Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met and proactively addressing any delays or issues.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and fostering strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Team Collaboration: Lead project teams, including Superintendents, Project Engineers, and support staff, to deliver successful outcomes. Collaborate closely with the Pre-Construction and Estimating teams to align on project objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company standards and project specifications, delivering exceptional quality to clients.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior leadership on project status, financial performance, and key milestones.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of project management experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years of estimating experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction methods, estimating software, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and financial reporting.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead project teams and collaborate with all stakeholders effectively.
  • Estimating Proficiency: Hands-on experience with quantity take-offs, bid analysis, and cost management, utilizing estimating software.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic approach to decision-making.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in project planning, estimating, and execution.
