Job Summary:
The Global Trade Compliance Manager will lead and ensure compliance with international trade regulations across the company's global operations. As a key player in the organization, you will manage all aspects of import/export compliance, mitigate risk, and develop strategic policies that drive efficiency in global trade. This role requires a Licensed Customs Broker with extensive experience in international trade compliance who is ready to make a significant impact in a high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to U.S. and international trade regulations, including U.S. Customs, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and other global trade laws.

  • Customs Brokerage Management: Lead the customs brokerage process, ensuring full compliance with customs entry regulations. Oversee accurate and timely customs filings and the clearance of goods, collaborating closely with customs brokers and external authorities.

  • HTS & ECCN Classification: Manage the accurate classification of products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) to ensure proper documentation and compliance with all export control regulations.

  • Audit & Risk Mitigation: Conduct internal audits and manage risk by ensuring the accuracy of customs documentation and adherence to international trade agreements. Implement corrective actions to address any compliance issues and optimize processes.

  • Training & Development: Provide leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams, ensuring they are well-trained on global trade regulations. Deliver ongoing training programs to enhance the company’s trade compliance knowledge base.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, logistics, finance, customer service, and external partners to ensure compliance with trade agreements and certificates of origin. Lead initiatives to utilize preferential trade programs and duty drawback opportunities to reduce costs.

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the company’s trade compliance strategy, identifying opportunities to streamline operations, reduce risks, and optimize trade flows across international markets.

  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for all global shipments, and ensure compliance records are in place for audits. Prepare and present reports to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Customs Broker(Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade compliance within a global manufacturing or industrial company
  • Expertise in HTS classification, ECCN determination, and global import/export regulations
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, trade agreements (e.g., NAFTA/USMCA), and other global compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with trade compliance software and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Familiarity with global logistics and freight operations
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment
