Position Overview: Estimator I
Responsibilities:
- Review project solicitation documents and perform quantity take-offs.
- Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations and distribute solicitation documents.
- Assist in developing scope of work packages to define project requirements.
- Evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure scope accuracy (quantities, schedules, inclusions, exclusions, etc.).
- Prepare subcontractor/vendor price analysis sheets.
Required Skills:
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in engaging with subcontractors and vendors.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
- Familiarity with take-off software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills are also preferred.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in the construction industry, with estimating experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with commercial or government projects is advantageous.
- Background with construction material suppliers and quantity take-offs is a plus.
