About the job:
(Senior) Carrier Sales Representatives are responsible for the day to day interactions and operations of the organization. Carrier Sales Reps constantly communicate throughout the day with internal teams and carriers alike, responsible for building rapport and ongoing relationships with both trusted and new carriers, and effectively ensuring internal teams and clients are on the same page.What you’ll be doing:
- Source, qualify, and onboard new carriers for freight movement while meeting customer expectations.Effectively manage daily load boards and provide timely solutions and communication during challenges.
- Collaborate with customer sales and operations teams daily to prioritize goals.
- Respond to incoming calls promptly and represent the company professionally.
- Set a strong example of work ethic and provide guidance to the carrier team.
- Maintain accurate carrier data in CRM systems, including contact details and insurance certificates.
- Utilize and master internal tracking systems.
- Expedite load coverage with meticulous attention to detail and urgency.
- Update carriers on load changes post initial rate confirmation.
- Track shipments and update systems accurately, involving team members as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with carriers for positive representation.
- Negotiate rates to secure capacity and maintain profitable margins.
- Support sales team leads in forecasting, business planning, and strategy.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in response to business needs.
- Minimum 2 years in Carrier Sales or Brokering required.
